In the heart of Knightsbridge, The Rosebery at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London offers an Afternoon Tea experience that perfectly captures the essence of the season.

The Rosebery delivers an indulgent yet quintessentially British afternoon tea in a setting that is both glamorous and inviting. The ambience, accented by plush seating and the glow of polished brass, is as integral to the experience as the menu itself.

This season’s menu, crafted by Executive Pastry Chef Emmanuel Bonneau, celebrates the bounty of autumn, using ingredients sourced from across the British Isles.

Chef Bonneau, who has been with Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London for four years, brings exceptional expertise, including his win on The Great British Bake Off: The Professionals in 2018.

The sandwiches are beautifully presented, each one is a small work of art. The Classic Prawn Cocktail on tomato bread delivers the perfect balance of spice and smokiness, while the Coronation Chickpea Salad with Chicken adds a light, modern twist to a British favourite. The Clarence Court Egg and Black Truffle is luxurious, the truffle adding just the right touch of indulgence.

The Wensleydale Cheese and Fig on malted bran bread pairs the sweetness of fig with the tang of the cheese to delightful effect, and the Slow Cooked Grass-Fed Beef with horseradish and caramelised onion spread feels rich and comforting, ideal for the season. Sandwiches are replenished generously, allowing guests to savour each one without rush.

Freshly baked raisin and plain scones arrive warm, wrapped in a linen napkin. The texture is soft and fluffy inside, with a beautifully golden crust. They are served with clotted cream and three seasonal preserves: strawberry, fig and quince.

The finale is a collection of pastries that are as elegant as they are delicious. The Apple and Cinnamon Profiterole pairs crisp choux pastry with green apple gel and cinnamon cream, a lovely balance of freshness and spice. The English Plum and Mascarpone Tart is a standout, with layers of vanilla sponge, plum compote and tonka-infused mascarpone creating a light yet deeply flavoured bite.

The Caramelised Pecan Opera impresses with its layers of pecan sponge and coffee diplomat cream. The Salted Caramel Parfait, encased in a glossy Dulcey chocolate jelly, offers a pleasing contrast of smooth and crunchy textures. Finally, the Autumn Chocolate Acorn, made with Jivara milk chocolate ganache and chocolate pearls, provides a fittingly indulgent end to the experience.

The tea menu is extensive, featuring a curated blends from around the world alongside The Rosebery’s signature teas.

For those seeking to elevate the experience, a Champagne pairing is available, featuring three fine cuvées: Ruinart Blanc de Blancs served with savouries, 2016 Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage with scones, and Ruinart Rosé with the pastries.

With its elegant setting, exceptional service and seasonally inspired menu, The Rosebery’s Autumn Afternoon Tea at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London is one of the most refined in the city. The combination of tradition, artistry and a touch of indulgence makes it a true highlight for anyone seeking Afternoon Tea in London.
