Chocolate lovers are in for a treat with this unique high tea on offer at Lennons Restaurant & Bar in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD.

Perched above the Queen Street Mall at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, you’ll find a high tea with a difference. Lennons Restaurant & Bar has brought Lindt Chocolate into their Winter Treasures High Tea experience, with sweets to delight all chocolate lovers.

A chocolate-themed high tea is always going to draw the attention of a sweet tooth, but even more so when Lindt is involved! Known for quality, decadent chocolate, Lindt is the perfect way to merge chocolate with a winter-themed high tea.

At Lennons Restaurant & Bar, located at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Brisbane City, they’ve tapped into the delicious milk, white, and dark Lindt chocolate tastes to deliver a unique high tea experience.

Before we tucked into the chocolate-infused delights, our high tea started with a winter comfort staple – a bowl of soup. The delicious mushroom soup was an unexpected addition to a high tea, but a welcome one!

Then the tower of treats arrived, with our favourites being the white chocolate, sunshine fruit and nut marshmallow; and the dark chocolate wattle seed crunch wafer stack. The savouries included a delightful smoked salmon and dill creme fraiche finger sandwich, and a cucumber and chive cream cheese sandwich.

Of course, no high tea is complete without scones. On this occasion, no gluten-free scones were made available, and the gluten-free option was disappointing. But the regular scones were wonderful, although the promised Chantilly Cream seemed to taste more like a strawberry yoghurt.

The experience was completed with the Ultimate Hot Chocolate and a warm chocolate pudding filled with vanilla bean chocolate custard. After so many sweets, we were beaten by both! But the taste we had was delightful.

While the chocolate-themed high tea certainly had its delights, the setting felt more like a hotel than a high tea experience. The restaurant was also serving lunch-goers, and the crockery was exactly what would have been used for any other meal. It lacked the ambience of a high tea that could be achieved with just a few small changes.

The service, however, was impeccable with friendly, attentive team members who anticipated our needs with a smile.

All in all, if you love your chocolate, you’re looking for a high tea experience that’s a little different, and you want a place that’s central to Brisbane, Lennons Winter Treasures High Tea will do the trick.
