Afternoon Tea at the Park Hyatt Sydney

The Park Hyatt Sydney is globally renowned for delivering a seamless experience and our latest visit to savour its Summer afternoon tea menu demonstrated precisely why.

The Park Hyatt Sydney did away with the more traditional tiered stand a while ago, opting to serve the afternoon tea grazing-style instead. And again it’s so impressive that we believe no one will raise objections – certainly not us!

When you factor in the floor-to-ceiling windows in “The Living Room” offering the stunning Sydney Harbour view from Campbell Cove across to the Opera House, you are in for a truly relaxing afternoon.

Executive Sous Chef Fuji Taukatelat has designed a generous menu which is presented beautifully with a faultless attention to detail. The five savoury and four sweet items are generously proportioned, there is a lot of food in this afternoon tea.

Standouts include the sashimi tuna tartlet with a hint of soy and a salty sprinkling of caviar; the chicken and celery sandwich was rich with mayonnaise and finely chopped chicken; and, the raspberry tonka crémeux which was a light vanilla mousse with a tangy raspberry filling dipped in Callebaut in the shape of an oversized raspberry – both delicious and creative..

The scones at Park Hyatt Sydney have always rated in our top five list, and today was no different. Baked to order, the yoghurt scones arrive warm accompanied by clotted cream and strawberry gum jam that is laden with fruit.

Overall the experience at the Park Hyatt Sydney definitely deserves our five star rating. Considerable thought has gone into the planning and execution of this menu which is executed to an exceptionally high standard.
