Virgin Atlantic recently launched the ‘Highest High Tea in the world’. High tea has been introduced to Upper Class meal service between Sydney to London, so you can now take high tea at 35,000ft.
The High Tea service brings a truly British and glamorous experience to Virgin Atlantic’s in-flight experience.
Passengers will be presented with an afternoon tea trolley and can select what they would like to add to their very own two-tiered cake stand. A Coup champagne glass and bespoke designed cutlery are also part of the service presentation.
At the media launch I had the opportunity to taste the exact high tea that will be served on board. There is a choice of three sandwich flavours with my favourite being the salmon. The petite scones are fresh and fluffy inside and just the perfect size for an onboard treat.
Virgin Atlantic Upper Class High Tea Menu:
- Finger sandwiches: Chicken and Caesar; Smoked Salmon; Roasted Vegetables
- Mini cupcakes
- Scones with jam and cream
- A tea pot and cafetiere with a selection of herbal and fruit teas.
Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class service captures the essence of a traditional High Tea but in a uniquely Virgin way. The time-honored scones with jam and cream and finger sandwiches are just as one would expect however the unusual setting provides a modern take on high tea.
Later this year Virgin Atlantic will introduce high tea to the Upper Class service on flights between London and New York.
