Every weekend from Saturday 29 October to Sunday 20 November The Art of Afternoon Tea will come to life with an exhibition by artist-in-residence Renae Geddes displayed at radii restaurant & bar.
Renowned for her modern and abstract style, Renae takes inspiration from the world around her. While favouring oil paints, she also has a fascination for gilding with 24k gold leaf and is currently working on a commissioned piece with real diamonds.
Living her life in the moment Renae also meditates and writes poetry, which heavily influences her work, of which the underlying message is ‘love’. Renae says “Life is not about searching for who you are, but finding love in the stillness of your own company. The pinnacle is doing what you have found to create the most light in you, as this is your life. I have found this, therefore I am.”
Three years after moving to Melbourne, Australia’s culture capital, Renae has seen her success go from strength to strength and continues to create art that reflects who she truly is. “Melbourne is the best city in Australia for creativity and the arts. Art is as much a part of the city as the food culture is. There is so much going on and the opportunities in the arts industry in Melbourne are mind-boggling.” Renae Geddes.
