A box of freshly baked scones from the Hotel Windsor Melbourne can be delivered to your door, so you can create a High Tea at Home experience.
The famous scones from The Windsor Hotel Melbourne are now available for you to enjoy at home. This would make a lovely surprise for your mum for Mother’s Day or a treat for yourself.
The scones were delivered to my door by a staff member from the hotel, and still warm as they had only been baked three hours earlier. The scones were soft and warm, just as I remember them from my last visit to The Windsor Hotel. The salted caramel spread was so delicious I think the hotel should be bottling this for sale.
The scones are sold in packs of six with an accompanying house-made spread and double cream for $28. There is the option of purchasing additional spread and also a tin of our Windsor blend tea.
Scone flavours change weekly and run for two weeks each, so there is a slight overlap. This week, the flavour was Callebaut chocolate scones with a hazelnut custard and double cream, and a Speculaas scone with salted caramel spread and double cream. I was lucky enough to try both and they are both delicious.
Scone Boxes can be purchased through The Windsor’s Gift Shop, between Tuesday and Saturday, with the option of pick up or delivery (within a 15km radius of the city).
We hope to see the afternoon tea service at The Windsor Hotel available again soon, until then the Scone Box is a wonderful alternative and a way to support our hospitality industry during these difficult times.
