A chill descended on Brisbane, almost knowingly, the afternoon the High Tea Society took a sparkling gluten free high tea at the Sofitel Brisbane Central.  Greeted by friendly staff, we were seated in the Executive Club Lounge, one of three places you can take high tea at the Sofitel.

One of the best things about getting out of Sydney to find regional high teas, is that the venues we visit always come with a little bit of Australian history attached. Lilianfels, who boasts Katoomba’s three sisters as its neighbour, is no different.

Squirreled away in the back streets of Sydney’s Darlinghurst is a little place called The Food Society. It’s a European restaurant serving up a unique high tea experience every Saturday, based around tea and vodka.

Its modern but glamorous design and décor was immediately warm and inviting, as were the staff who seated us by the window near the outer-edge of the restaurant.

Few places in London are as charming as Greenwich on a sunny afternoon. The area is famous for its maritime history and for lending its name to the Greenwich Meridian (0° longitude) and Greenwich Mean Time.
